The UT Global Initiative for Education and Leadership (UTGI) at The University of Texas at Austin is pleased to announce their collaboration with International Office (IO) to offer the U.S. Academic & Culture Immersion Program for Visiting Students from China (formerly referred to as the Hubei Visiting Students Program) in connection with the Severn Institute. The program offers high-performing students from China an opportunity to experience an American university. UTGI will be providing leadership and academic coursework for the inaugural year of the program. Participants will take academic English and leadership courses, participate in cultural experiences, and volunteer in community service projects. Half the cohort will take coursework along a humanities/business track, and half a sciences track.
The leadership sessions aim to provide high-level training paired with interactive activities to sharpen leadership skills. The academic sessions will offer a sampling of American academic courses at the university level. UTGI has selected talented faculty to create short courses based on the content from their classes.
